Estonia’s Golbriak Space has secured €4 million in fresh financing to accelerate the industrialisation of its technology and expand production capacity as customers move towards embedding optical terminals at scale. The company designs, engineers and manufactures laser communication systems for space and airborne applications. Its technology is designed to reduce integration complexity and make optical communications easier to manufacture, operate and deploy across different platforms, networks and missions. The seed round was co-led by Join Capital and PhotonVentures, with participation from Takeoff, the acceleration program of the CDP Venture Capital National Accelerator Network for aerospace and advanced hardware startups, managed by Plug and Play. Specifically, the investment was made into Golbriak Space’s Italian holding company, Iribits S.r.l., and will be used to accelerate the development and industrialisation of its Estonian operating subsidiary, Golbriak Space OÜ.
